Dreamcast GDEMU Users Rejoice: A Fresh Custom Boot Menu Is Coming

Developed by Andre Pereira Rego and his company GAMETRACKS, It's called Dream Menu — a complete custom boot menu built for GDEMU that finally feels like it belongs on the console, rather than something bolted awkwardly on top. Every bit of it runs off the controller alone; no keyboard required, though one still works if you'd rather use it.

Games unfold in a carousel, sorted by category and paired with synopses, so you'll never be launching something completely blind again. The whole interface supports five languages beyond English — Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, and Italian — and a Last Played sidebar means picking up where you left off is just a click away. Libraries can get sprawling, so there are multiple carousel speeds to match.

Then there's the online side of things: connect via broadband adapter or, for the truly nostalgic, good old dial-up. Once you're online, a built-in chat lets you talk to friends without ever backing out of the menu — and tucked in alongside it is an AI assistant, arguably the feature its creator is proudest of, ready to dish out game recommendations or hints whenever you need a nudge in the right direction.
