Atari has announced a collaboration with Activision to re-release 39 of its 2600 titles on physical cartridges.
"In 1979, a group of Atari programmers set out to prove that great games could come from independent creators and ended up changing the industry forever," says the company.
"Activision created some of the most popular and best-selling games for the Atari 2600, including Pitfall!, River Raid, Kaboom!, and more. The Atari x Activision collaboration celebrates our connected history with the ultimate collection of re-released Activision games on Atari cartridges."
Activision is going all-in on nostalgia: all 39 classic titles are getting the deluxe treatment, divided across four collector's collections priced at $249.99 apiece β with every single game arriving decked out with its own woven patch and enamel pin.
