For two decades, Blue Dragon sat locked away as an Xbox-only relic — until now. A fresh unofficial PC port has broken it free, as detailed by PC Gamer.
Dubbed Re:Blue, This PC port breathes new life into Mistwalker & Artoon's sprawling RPG epic — a game so ambitious it shipped across three discs when it first launched in Japan back in 2006, arriving internationally the following year on Xbox 360. Its pedigree reads like a dream team of JRPG royalty: character art from Dragon Quest legend Akira Toriyama, a story crafted by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, and a score composed by the one and only Nobuo Uematsu.
"re:Blue rebuilds Blue Dragon as a native application through static recompilation, translating the original code into something your machine runs directly rather than emulating a console around it. That opens the door to things an emulator cannot reach: higher frame rates, modern resolutions, and real mod support."
Here's a list of all of the new features this port has to offer! Head over to the re:Blue GitHub to download it and try it out, you just have to provide the game files yourself!
